Scroll down to see below for a special CANDLELIGHT CHRISTMAS YOGA AND QIGONG CLASS on Dec. 27!

HATHA YOGA

Tuesdays 9:15 am – 10:15 am (Denise Smith Dance Studio – click here)

An active class which includes meditation (mindfulness), asanas (physical postures), and pranayama (breath work) with the intention of bringing balance and harmony to body and mind. Elements of yoga philosophy are woven into the class for reflection and contemplation. Suitable for all levels; some yoga experience helpful but not necessary.

YIN YOGA

Thursdays and Sundays 9:15 am – 10:15 am (Denise Smith Dance Studio – click here)

A passive class where the body releases into long-held poses (up to 5 minutes) with the intention of bringing stimulation to the connective tissues of the body through slow, steady, traction-like pressure. Pressurizing the tissues this way also helps to balance the flow of energy or “CHI” throughout the body. A highly meditative class with guided breath work. Suitable for all levels including those new to yoga and an excellent complement to more active styles of yoga.

YOGA-PILATES

Wednesdays 9:45 am – 11:00 am (Nepean Creative Arts Centre – www.ottawa.ca)

An active class that blends dynamic movement, yoga poses, Pilates mat work, and core exercises with mindful awareness and breath attention. A well-rounded class for those who are looking for a fusion-style workout with a holistic approach. Suitable for all levels; sorry no drop-ins – registered class only

Winter session begins Feb. 6, 2019 and runs until the end of March. See barcode #1400137. This class will be covered by another teacher during my absence.
